Singing Lessons – What to Expect

“Deborah Can Give Anyone the Inspiration to Begin Singing”
Beginners
- I’ll teach you how to breathe properly so that you can give your voice the support it needs
- We’ll explore how you actually make the sounds for singing and I’ll teach you now to train the muscles involved
- We’ll introduce some songs (any genre) so that you can try out the new techniques
- Then, when you are confident, we can explore the range and music a bit further with the help of professional accompaniment

General Singing
“The kindest, funniest, most patient and talented teacher I could hope to find”
- I will help you develop your singing technique so you can rely on your voice
- Once you have developed a good technique we can either organise a public performance of some kind (maybe a gig in a small venue) or
- We can aim for a performance certificate or diploma
- I’ll definitely try and persuade you to join other students at one of our concerts at the Actors Club
- You should gain vocal confidence however you decide to use your voice

“You saved my career”

With Veena trying out the tongue freeing exercise
My main teaching practice is based in Central London (mostly at the Music Studios click here for a map). I also teach online to students around the world.
All private teaching is one-to-one except when we invite a professional accompanist to work alongside. I will try to make sure everything is understandable and logical. As far as you possibly can, you should practice the exercises every day so that the body can start to free up and adapt. Even five minutes a day will make a difference. In this way progress is swift and fulfilling.
