Transform Your Public Speaking Skills and Learn to Sing!
“I found Deborah’s lessons on the Internet. I had just started a new role in a senior position and needed to improve my public speaking. I have done lots of the traditional courses but lessons with Deborah have been transformational for me.
Her teaching is exciting, innovative and fun.

Are your vocal skills letting you down? Feeling self-conscious? Anxious before speaking? Do the wrong words come out or perhaps you find it hard to make eye-contact?
Maybe you find that the sound of your own voice isn’t matching how you feel or what you intended. Book a class and learn how to strengthen your voice. You’ll also develop good habits of posture, breathing and presentation so that you’ll never fear speaking in public again.
These techniques are vital for confidence-building, health and happiness.
The need to communicate, to make our own true sound, sits very deep within all of us. When we are at one with our voices it is profoundly satisfying and comforting, almost as natural to us as breathing itself.
Using specific techniques you can transform your speaking voice so that you will sound like the clear and confident person you are meant to be.
Singing, sounding on pitch, happens in humans before defined speech. The music of language is something we explore in our classes, along with the way in which we actually make words. All of this creates a real sense of self-confidence and community.
Although we are all individual, the core principals of vocal communication remain the same.
I adapt the classes to work for you.
One-to-one sessions are currently held in Marylebone or on-line between 8am and 8pm at a time to suit participants.

Mindfulness Skills
As a singer I have had to develop physical awareness in order to perform. However, over the past forty years the development of what is now called Mindfulness practice has helped millions of people to manage stress, chronic physical pain and other often overwhelming states of being. At its roots it’s an ancient meditation practice to develop an awareness of the body and of the breath, without judgement, moment by moment. Western science is now happy to prove its effectiveness. Witnessing a moment as it passes, along with our reactions as they spring up, is a skill we can all learn. We can then focus better, concentrate better and perform better. The trick is to allow yourself to feel what you feel without it taking over.
My awareness coaching training will help you to develop your own individual practice.
From a young age we are trained to learn from selected sources, rather than from our own experimentation. Often we learn to ignore or push our true feelings and emotions away. Instead we tell ourselves what we think we ought to be feeling or thinking. This is so unhelpful especially when we become nervous about speaking or performing in public.
We can explore the practice of physical self-awareness together and you’ll find just how self-confident you can become.
Where necessary I can recommend a range of complimentary services, physios etc
Self-Havening
I like to teach self-soothing Havening Techniques. The psychological importance of touch has been long known about, but the neuroscience behind Havening proves that actually our brain chemistry can change and calm with just a little guidance.
