I recently gave a pop-up workshop at the Wellcome to co-incide with their Voice exhibition. Random members of the public volunteered for a tongue work-out and discovered how to make words and how to sing much more clearly. The response was really positive – and surprised. The pop-up workshops are for those who have a little bit of spare time and are willing to explore an aspect of an exhibition in a way they may never have considered before. It’s a bit like when you go on holiday you are often much more inclined to take risks or visit places you never normally would. And so with tongues. I’m delighted that there are now that many more people in the world who can feel a little more confident about the way they speak. We did a spot of singing too – nursery rhymes in the Reading room at the Wellcome.
Well..why not!
