Online Singing and Public Speaking lessons
One of the great advantages of online lessons is that they can happen from wherever you are, as long as the time difference isn’t too huge. I have been teaching online for many years, especially during the pandemic, when I also offered warm up and booster sessions to students collectively.
I teach students in many different locations and time zones, but online lessons also work well for newbies, especially if you’re feeling a bit shy and want a taster lesson or two before coming to the studios. Every voice is different and every person has their own needs and goals.
A one-to-one lesson with an experienced teacher who has been teaching both online and in the studio for many years gives you that reassurance you will need as you set out on your singing and public speaking journey.
Some students who aren’t well enough to leave their homes enjoy online therapeutic singing lessons. The therapeutic singing brings a really beneficial experience into the day. We go through breathing exercises and vocal warmups before exploring techniques, including Havening for anxiety based difficulties. I can provide backing tracks to most readymade songs although I do like to encourage students who can’t go out, to think about picking up a guitar and learning a few chords. It’s nice to have company when you’re ill. All my singing teaching is technique based. That means I’ll want to help you to release tensions and strengthen good habits.
Some students use online lessons for singing holiday top ups or those mini check ups while on tour. The benefits of online singing lessons can make a huge difference. You’ll be seeing your regular teacher who knows your voice and how you need to handle it. Help is on hand for vocal emergencies so you always have someone you can turn to.
So how do online singing lessons work and what do we need?
You do need a good internet connection and access to Skype or Whatsapp. If you have a separate mic that’s great but if not no worries. Just make sure you are somewhere you can make a noise without worrying others will hear you. We are looking for you to feel as free as possible to sing online with Deborah Hudson. Have some water handy and make sure you are warm enough.
We’ll arrange a lesson time and I’ll then confirm all the details by email.
That’s it! You can look forward to your lesson and I will look forward to seeing you.
