Experience the Vocal Pathway to Mindful Communication
The vocal pathway establishes good habits of posture, breathing and presentation so that we no longer need to fear singing or speaking in public. The Mindful vocal method not only teaches us how to sing and speak with confidence, but in doing so it also teaches the ability to observe our emotions, to focus our minds and to inspire those that hear us.
Throughout the vocal pathway course we are going to be focussing on noticing and feeling the physicality of sound making. In a process very similar to that of the body scan and mindful yoga practice used in Mindfulness training programmes, we’ll slow down the actual way in which the body works to allow us to express ourselves. We’ll find that this method both concentrates the mind and relieves us of being ruled by its every day chatter. As we discover and focus on those parts of the body involved in sound making we find we can release the stress they carry. As we release the stress, we understand the causes and ourselves better. Thus our voices become stronger because we have become much more confident. It is a magical, uplifting experience. And it lasts!
